Who We Are

SuperCare: Compassionate Care and Community Connection for Young Lives

About Us

SuperCare is a young and passionate organisation specialising in Children’s Homes for young people with learning disabilities. Our heartfelt mission is to improve the quality of life for every young person we support and look after. We strive to create a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where children with learning disabilities can flourish.

At SuperCare, we are dedicated to expanding our services by opening homes in each county in the Southeast, strategically located to enable support between homes. This approach enables us to share services and resources, ensuring that we provide the highest level of care to the young people we support.

We deeply understand that caring for young people with learning disabilities requires a compassionate and skilled team. That’s why we have assembled a team of experienced professionals who are not only highly competent but also genuinely care about helping children with learning disabilities reach their full potential.

Our Approach

Nurturing Unique Abilities with Personalised Support and Enriching Activities

Our approach revolves around creating a secure and supportive environment where young people can thrive. We work closely with families, coaches, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that each child receives the individualised care and attention they deserve.

In addition to our core services, we offer a diverse range of activities and programs carefully designed to foster the development of skills, interests, and self-confidence in young people with learning disabilities. We firmly believe that every child possesses unique talents and abilities, and we are wholeheartedly committed to helping them discover and nurture those talents.

At SuperCare, we embrace a person-centered approach to care. This means that we place great importance on understanding the needs, preferences, and goals of each individual in our care. By working closely with young people and their families, we create personalised care plans that are tailored to their specific requirements.

Our Team

Holistic Well-Being and Community Integration for Young Lives

Our team are extensively trained to provide a comprehensive range of services, including social and therapeutic care, educational support, and engaging social and recreational activities. We are fully committed to delivering a holistic approach to care that addresses all aspects of a young person’s well-being. We recognize that leaving home can be an emotional and challenging experience for young people and their families.

Therefore, we prioritise creating a warm and welcoming environment that feels like a true home away from home.

Our homes are thoughtfully designed to provide comfort and invite young people to relax, play, and socialise in a space that feels comforting and familiar.

Community involvement and engagement hold great significance to us. That’s why our homes are conveniently situated near schools, parks, and other community resources, offering young people the opportunity to actively participate in a wide range of activities and events. We encourage our young people to become valued members of their communities, fostering meaningful relationships with their peers and neighbours.

Our Culture and Values

SuperCare is run on 6 primary values

1. Only Outstanding

  • As an organisation, we always go the extra mile, looking at ways that every part of our practice is literally ‘only outstanding’.
  • Our teams have a genuine commitment to working with children and young people, always forward thinking and proactive, thinking outside the box and ensuring that everything we do is carried out in a way that benefits the young people and the team.
  • Keeping ‘Only Outstanding’ as one of our key principles, ensures that we reflect on everything we do.

2. Seek To Understand

  • The second of our values and principles is based on seeking to understand.
  • If we put our preconceived unconscious bias at the forefront, we may miss opportunities to gain deeper understanding.
  • We encourage everyone we work with to listen well, to understand and not base any thought patterns or decision-making on perceptions…
  • Always Seek to Understand

3. We Do Whatever It Takes

  • As an organisation, a home and a staff team, rest assured that the management team will always do whatever it takes.
  • We want the home to flourish and grow, we want our young people to be confident and secure and experience as many new opportunities as possible.
  • We do whatever it takes to ensure that everyone is included and valued, based on the understanding that when we feel supported, we grow.

4. We Inspect And Don’t Expect

  • The fourth of our values and principles is based on understanding that expectations are sometimes based on individual perceptions.
  • If as a team, we are working towards an everyday task or a specific goal, what one person may understand through instructions is often very different to the next person.
  • Therefore, we strive to inspect in a supportive way. This ensures that all of our team are working to the same aims and raises awareness if anyone needs extra support.

5. Radical Honesty

  • Radical Honesty: we work in a culture where radical honesty is valued and expected.
  • This means being able to say calmly and respectfully what needs to be said if it will benefit anyone involved in our practice.
  • When individuals do not feel listened to they can become unmotivated and feel isolated.
  • All of the management team encourage radical honesty and will listen and discuss with all of the team.

6. We Never Give Up

  • The last of our values and principles is ‘We never give up’. And we mean it.
  • Our team are very important to us, without them we cannot provide an only outstanding service to the children and young people.
  • Therefore, we have a culture of always looking at the bigger pictures, of asking ‘what’ will make things even better and considering the ‘how’ after identifying the ‘what’.
  • We want our young people to know that we view the house as their home and strive to enable them to understand that we genuinely will never give up on supporting, motivating and enabling them to make positive choices
